The Fair Haven United Methodist Men (FHUMM) meet every Wednesday morning in the Fellowship Hall (see map) for a wonderful breakfast and speaker. The meal normally includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and scratch biscuits. The meal is followed by an interesting program that inspires, informs and/or entertains. The speaker may be a member of the organization or may be a guest invited to speak and share insight in their field of expertise. Past speakers have been the Superintendent of Spring Branch ISD and the Texas Attorney General's office discussing identify theft.
The food service begins at 6:30 AM and the program at 6:45 AM. The breakfast meetings are often over by 7:15. It is understood that those whose work schedules require they leave before the program is over are expected to do so.
Everyone is invited to have breakfast! Children, youth, women regularly attend as well as the men.
Through the years, the FHUMM have responded to the appeals of many groups in the local church with financial support as well as service. FHUMM has also independently supported programs that are a part of the Texas Conferences Benevolences. Some "out of the mainstream" local charities have received significant financial support from the FHUMM. Our benevolent efforts are often directed to problem areas of immediate need.
