
The United Methodist Women is the organized women’s group of Fair Haven who have four main goals:
· strengthening our relationships thru learning and working together to improve our community and world;
· becoming better informed about the concerns of the world;
· being involved in mission work in Houston and around the world;
· centering our relationship with God thru Jesus.
The General Meeting meets the 1st Tuesday in Fellowship Hall at 9:15 a.m. for learning opportunities, fellowship and project information.
Three times a year the meeting is followed by a salad lunch.
The Circles meet on 3rd Tues at 9:30 a.m. and 3rd Mon. at 7:30 p.m. in smaller groups to continue the studies and community spirit;
The Bible Study meets on 2nd Wed. at 10:00a.m. with organized study
led by members;
The Prayer Group meets every Thurs. at 11:30 a.m.;
The Young Women of Faith meet monthly for fellowship, study and help with the children’s special activities at Fair Haven.
All women of the church are invited to attend any of the UMW meetings. Times and locations are listed in the church newspaper and church bulletin.
On-going projects of the UMW include helping with the Jail Ministry, Brookshire Nursing Home, Shadow Oaks and Terrace Elementary, Mission of Yahweh, MAM, all in Houston, and by supporting mission
work around the world thru our giving.
