The Fair Haven United Methodist Men (FHUMM) meet each Wednesday morning in the Fellowship Hall. The food service begins at 6:30 and fellowship begins at 5:30 when the cooks arrive and begin to prepare a Country Breakfast. The meal is followed by an interesting program that will inspire, inform and/or entertain. The speaker may be a member of the organization or he/she may be a guest invited to speak and share insight in their field of expertise.
The breakfast meetings are often over by 7:15. It is understood that those whose work schedules require they leave before the program is over are expected to do so.
EVERYONE IS INVITED TO HAVE BREAKFAST WITH THE FHUMM !
CHILDREN, YOUTH, WOMEN AS WELL AS MEN REGULARLY ATTEND
Through the years, the FHUMM have responded to the appeals of many groups in the local church with financial support as well as service. FHUMM has also independently supported programs that are a part of the Texas Conferences Benevolences. Some "out of the mainstream" local charities have received significant financial support from the FHUMM. Our benevolent efforts are often directed to problem areas of immediate need.
Once each yearly quarter, the FHUMM sponsor an EVENING FELLOWSHIP DINNER. This quarterly event affords opportunities for all Fair Haven Church members, (families, women as well as men),
to enlarge their circle of friends and acquaintances beyond the groups in which they are currently active. The meal will be provided by the FHUMM, with the assistance of excellent cooks who may not be regular FHUMM members. The menu varies from quarter to quarter. The program for these meetings will freshen and lift the spirit of those who attend.
